Kids’ Party Tonight at Dagsworthy!

The Dewey Business Partnership will be hosting its Annual Kids’ Party on the Beach, TONIGHT from 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. on the beach at Dagsworthy Street Beach in Dewey. Activities will include DJ, games, face painting, singing, dancing, fun with mascots, free food and refreshments plus many other surprises! Bring the whole family! The party will be immediately followed by the first Wednesday Bonfire of the season.

Parking is FREE at permit spots AND at meters TONIGHT between 5:00 P.M. and 11:00 P.M. and admission to the party and bonfire is free!

DBCL Beautification Day & Annual Meeting

Come one, come all to the Beautification Day activity and Annual Civic League Meeting on Saturday, May 17th.

Dewey Beach Beautification will take place on Saturday, May 17, 2014. The rain date is May 18th. Volunteers are asked to meet at the Life Saving Station at 8:30 am for registration and be equipped with sunscreen, hats, gloves and any tools or lawn equipment. Water and extra tools will be available at the Life Saving Station. We will work at the LSS, planters in the median, and in the area around the Holiday Tree on Route 1.

The Annual Civic League meeting will follow at 4pm, at the Dewey Lion’s Club. An agenda will be published shortly for the meeting.

2013 Dewey Beach Election has been Cancelled but Candidates Forum Still On for Sat., Aug. 24th at 4 pm at the Lions Club

The Dewey Beach municipal election, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 21, was cancelled when only three people filed for the three open seats on town council.

Mayor Diane Hanson and Commissioner Anna Legates will retain their spots; Commissioner Joy Howell did not file for re-election.

Thirty-year property owner Ellen Danaher, who filed Aug. 19, will replace Howell on town council. No date has yet been set for Danaher to take her seat on council.

The Candidates Forum will still be held on Saturday, August 24 from 4 to 6 at the Lions Club. Please come out to meet the candidates and hear them answer questions posed by the Civic League and the public.

Candidates Forum Hosted by the Civic League

The Dewey Beach Civic League is hosting the Candidates Forum on Saturday, August 24 at 4:00 pm, Lions’ Club House, Dewey Beach. The Civic League will pose questions to the candidates for Town Commissioner, followed by questions from the audience, and responses from all candidates.

Light refreshments from a local restaurant will be provided after the estimated 1 hour for the formal portion of the program.

Come meet the candidates for Town Commissioner and listen and participate in the forum so that everyone can choose their preferred candidates on voting day, Sept. 21st.
