We’ve worked hard on this new website for the Dewey Beach Civic League, and we’re now ready to debut the site to the public.  Welcome to the new and improved Civic League website,  and we look forward to your feedback.

The Civic League Member Meeting will follow Beautification on May 18 at 4pm, held at the Dewey Lion’s Club with food donated by Bethany Blues.  We will have a panel of speakers focused on issues relating to our town and surrounding area.  After the meeting please stick around for our 1st Happy Hour of 2013 with Bethany Blues BBQ and drink.  Please feel welcome to come and join us!

Dewey Beach Beautification will take place on Saturday, May 18, 2013. The rain date is May 19th.  Volunteers are asked to meet at the LSS at 8:30am equipped with sunscreen, hats, gloves and any tools or lawn equipment at registration. Water and extra tools will be available at the Life Saving Station.  We will work at the LSS, planters in the median, Town Hall, and in the area around the Holiday Tree on Route 1.  Usually we finish around Noon.

Volunteers are needed!  It’s not required to notify Marie in advance but she would be happier if you let her know.

Our weekly breakfast get together on Thursday mornings at 8:00am will be moving to Sunrise Restaurant!  We would like to thank the owners and staff at Hammerheads for hosting us through the winter.

The DBCL invites you to Hammerheads every Thursday morning at  8:00am.  Each person orders and pays for their own  breakfast.  We will have a few topics but will not be giving any   presentations. These will be casual get togethers.  We will take  suggestions for the following week’s topics.

Fun was had by all at the New Year’s Eve Skimboarder  Drop.  Which was followed by the first Dewey Dunk on New Year’s Day.   Both events were sponsored by the Dewey Business Partnership.   Link

The annual Tree Lighting Event will be held on Saturday 11/24 from 5:30 to 7:30 near Fifers Market at the end of Chicago St.  We will have refreshments, live music (including Grace Cannon), Santa and Mrs. Claus and a lot of good cheer.  We have major support from Dewey Business Partnership, Friends of Dewey, Dewey Beach Lions Club, American Hardscapes and Hooked on Plants.
