David King

David King's BiographyDavid King has been active in Town affairs since the mid-2000s, serving on the Comprehensive Plan Development Working Group, Budget and Finance Committee, Planning and Zoning Commission, and Infrastructure Committee. David holds Bachelor of Arts and Ph.D. degrees in chemical physics and a (Masters) degree in technology management. He worked for the federal government for 25 years, first as a research scientist with nearly 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals and research monographs, and later as a program manager overseeing multi-million dollar advanced technology research grants. In 2000 he co-founded a consulting company that works with companies involved with developing and/or marketing innovative biotechnology, nanotechnology and alternative energy technologies and products. After vacationing in Dewey since the early-1990s, David and his wife Betsy bought a home in the beach block of Swedes St. in 2002, where they spend about half their time throughout the year. David received the 2008 Town of Dewey Beach Volunteer of the Year Award.
