| The mission of the Town
History Committee is to assist our residents in understanding and appreciating
the history of our area, especially in the protection of our shores during World
War II, as well as through the multiple challenges of hurricanes, disaster
preparedness, and other difficulties we have faced together. We are a town
perched between the Sea and the Bay, named after an Admiral. Our history is our
