The
Dewey Beach Civic League is a not-for-profit community organization
dedicated to improving the "way of life" in Dewey Beach, Delaware by
representing the town's property owners, in a spirit of cooperation
with the businesses upon which our community depends. All people who
are eligible to vote in Dewey Beach elections are eligible to be
members of the League. Membership is on a perhousehold basis at $20 per
calendar year. The League has various committees and opportunities for
involvement in town activities. For more information on the Civic
League and its current activities, feel free to contact
League President David Main by email or call him at 703-770-7518.
There are many reasons to be a member of the town's "citizens association." These include:
- The League's website at www.deweybeachcivicleague.org,
email alerts on key issues sent to members, Town Council meeting
summaries, and the opportunity to interact with League board members on
a range of town issues.
- The ability to express your opinions and positions on town issues
through our email polls, which are compiled and expressed to the Town
Council.
- The ability to participate in dialogue with other members and
in social activities, such as our town beautification day and monthly
Happy Hours.
- The ability to vote for League Board members and to be nominated to serve on the Board.
- Clout
and effectiveness on town issues. (The more members we have, the more
representative we are, and the more we will be listened to.)
- The ability to build and support an effective organization, whether or not one
actively participates in the activities above, but with the
satisfaction of knowing it is there and working for the interests of
the town's property owners.
