on July 4 to express our appreciation to the guard corps for the great
job they are doing for our town. Not only have the guards had a
good season, despite large crowds so far this year, but they have
hosted a number of youth-oriented beach events and added special
equipment, such as tether-ball courts and volleyball nets, to various
areas along the beach with the help of private donations from several
sources. The League was pleased to express its members'
appreciation to the guards through a catered picnic lunch at the
Lifesaving Station attended by several commissioners and former guards,
as well as Civic League President David Main. |
