Business-Resident Relations Committee

The mission of the Business-Resident Relations Committee is to foster a cooperative relationship among the property owners, residents, and business owners of Dewey Beach, to facilitate productive dialogue between the residents and business community, and to seek constructive solutions to problems arising in business-resident relations.

BUSINESS LIFE IN DEWEY BEACH

As a long-time business-resident relations observer, former lifeguard, motel owner, family man, chamber board member and civic league board member, I will give you my impressions of the state of business in Dewey Beach. 

We both embrace and battle the "party town" image we have created. One recent Monday morning I received two complaints from my motel guests. The first was that my staff is way too strict at forcing guests to be quiet at 2 a.m. The second was that my guests' kids were frightened by the loud partiers in the middle of the night. The partier's response was that "this is Dewey", and people should be able to have a good time.
